​These are full time seasonal positions. The applicant must be available to be on-site in Costa Rica from
June 8th - August 5th, 2026 depending on which position you are applying for.

Choreographer & Assistant Choreographer

Responsibilities:

• Participate in running auditions and casting show.
• Create and teach choreography in coordination with Director and Music Director.
• Teach basic dance/movement skills to cast.
• Recruit and supervise student dance captain(s).
• Assist with other aspects of the production.
• Lead teens in activities outside of rehearsal, such as cooperative games and improvisation.

Specific Qualifications:

• Dance or theatre major preferred
• Intermediate Spanish proficiency OR commitment to significant study in preparation for the summer
• Experience choreographing and/or performing in musicals
• Ability to work with performers who have no formal dance training

Stage Manager & Assistant Stage Manager

Responsibilities:

• Attend all rehearsals; record blocking, take notes, create rehearsal reports.
• Lead all production meetings, including Paper Tech/Dry Tech.
• Oversee all cue building alongside the Stage Director, Musical Director and Technical Director including Lighting & Sound Cues and any Special EFX cues.
• Supervise teens in stewardship of rehearsal spaces.
• Keep records of attendance and contact absent cast members.
• Supervise, coach and delegate to student Assistant Stage Manager.
• Assist with design and technical aspects of the show.

Specific Qualifications:

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish preferred
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills

Costume Designer

Responsibilities:

• ​Supervise and coordinate the construction of all costumes for the show.
• Purchase and/or seek donations or loans of additional costume materials.
• Reach out to community members with sewing or costume experience to assist in costume construction.
• Provide opportunities for interested teens/children to participate in the construction of costumes.
• Instruct and supervise the cast in the maintenance of their costumes during the run of the show.
• Organize and maintain the costumes throughout the production.
• Coordinate the cleaning and storage of costumes after the show, and insure that all borrowed items are returned clean and in good condition.
• Assist with other aspects of the production.

Specific Qualifications:

• Basic sewing skills
• Creative, resourceful
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience constructing costumes preferred

Assistant Music Director

Responsibilities:

• Assist Music Director in preparing the score, planning rehearsals, and leading warm-ups.
• Assist Music Director during vocal and orchestra rehearsals.
• Teach music to teen performers, under the supervision of the Music Director.
• Review music with and coach singers one-on-one.
• Play keyboards or other instrument in the pit orchestra; lead pit orchestra rehearsals as assigned by Music Director.
• Coordinate set-up and break-down of the pit; assist music director in planning and executing pit orchestra rehearsals.
• Assist with other aspects of the production.

Specific Qualifications:

• ​Experienced singer
• Excellent ear
• Strong music reading skills
• Piano skills preferred

Assistant Director

​Responsibilities:

• Support the Director in developing a creative vision for the show, including concepts for set, costumes, props and lighting, as well as cultural adaptation and emphasis on and exploration of themes relevant to the teens’ lives.
• Participate in preparing and conducting auditions, and work with the music director and program director to make casting decisions.
• Familiarize self with Spanish and English scripts prior arrival.
• Coach participants one-on-one in acting and line memorisation.
• Lead some rehearsals, under the supervision of the Director.
• Assist with other aspects of the production.

Specific Qualifications:

• Excellent leadership skills
• Patience
• Experience in at least three theatre productions
• Interest in pursuing theater/drama in the future
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish preferred

Assistant Producer

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Producer in coordinating various aspects of the show, including: venue management; rehearsals; design & construction of set, costumes, lights, sound; orchestra management; finances; outside fundraising; local fundraising; ticket and food sales; publicity; media relations; programs; photo and video recording.

Specific Qualifications:

• Outgoing, willing to contact new people in person and over the phone
• Strong writing skills in Spanish and/or English preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish preferred
