We need energetic, creative individuals to assist with Musical Theatre Connections, an intensive summer theatre program for teens. Join us in a breathtakingly beautiful environment as we put on a full production of a musical with a fantastic, diverse group of youth.

Each intern is expected to take on TWO positions: one from LIST A and one from LIST B below. LIST A - Primary Position (approximately 70% of your work) Music Director Stage Manager Tech Director Assistant Producer LIST B - Secondary Position (approximately 30% of your work) Line Coach Orchestra Manager Production Assistant Props/Puppet Our staff is a flexible, multidisciplinary team. Interns will be accepted into the program with a specific position, but should expect to take on a variety of responsibilities outside of the traditional tasks association with that position. We expect you to be forthcoming about your strengths as well as willing to help in areas with which you are less familiar. These are intense, full-time positions. Our program has an extremely limited budget, and we ask our interns to contribute the cost of their participation so that we have the maximum funding available for the youth we serve. We do offer need-based financial aid to interns as much as we are able. The internship fee of $1700 includes:
The fee does NOT include airfare. Round-trip airfare to San José, Costa Rica typically costs between $400 and $600 from major U.S. airports. Limited financial aid may be available to qualified individuals. We strongly believe in making all of our opportunities available to everyone regardless of ability to pay. Please indicate on your application if you will require financial aid in order to participate. Our funding is highly dependent on the enrollment of international teen participants. Thus, we offer a recruitment bonus to interns which can help to cover the cost of participation. |

Community Outreach Intern, Costa Rica
Period of internship: This is a one-year commitment, including: · 4 – 6 months full-time in Costa Rica *Exact start and finish dates in Costa Rica are flexible – however, the intern must be able to arrive in Costa Rica by mid-April and stay until mid- to late- August. PLUS · 6 – 8 months part-time (2 – 8 hours per week), “cyber-commute” Start training January, 2012. End of internship December 31, 2012 Minimum qualifications:

Housing: The intern will be housed with a Costa Rican host family for a minimum of three months. The home-stay cost is approximately $450 per month including room, board, and laundry. After 3 months, the intern may choose to continue to live with his/her host family or to move to an apartment or house. Funding: This is an unpaid internship. We are a small organization with a limited budget run by a volunteer staff. So that we can maximize the resources available to provide program opportunities in the community, we ask our interns to cover their own costs (including housing & airfare) if at all possible. However, as with all of our programs, we do not wish to turn away passionate and qualified individuals due to their families’ financial circumstances. Please specify in your application whether you will be able to cover your own costs, or, if not, how much financial assistance you require. University Credit: While in Costa Rica, it is possible to obtain college credit for Spanish language courses taken at CPI, a language school with a branch in Monteverde, the town where we work. If your university may offer credit (possibly under education, performing arts, or general elective) for your internship work, we would be happy to assist with this process.
